Biography
P.O.D. is a Nu metal band that hailed from San Diego, California. The band formed in 1992 by guitarist Marcos Curiel and drummer Wuv Bernardo. The band released three studio albums before hitting mainstream success with their The Fundamental Elements of Southtown album in 1999. The music videos of their singles enjoyed heavy airplay on TV and radio that helped the album reach platinum status.
Their next album, Satellite also received positive reviews from the mainstream fans and contained several singles that became rock radio and TV staples. The band was becoming known for their positive messages that their songs contained and endeared them a fan base that rapidly increased. The said album also garnered for them a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance in 2002. This album eventually reached triple platinum status.

The band’s name, P.O.D., stands for "Payable on Death" which professes their Christian faith and refers to the death of Jesus Christ.
