Keane Biography
Keane are an English piano rock band, first established in Battle, East Sussex in 1995, taking their current name in 1997. The group is comprised of composer, bassist, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, lead vocalist Tom Chaplin and drummer Richard Hughes. They are known for using a piano as their lead instrument instead of guitars.
In 2002 , Keane was discovered by Simon Wiliiams in their acoustic gig at Betsy Trotwood and asked them to put out a single on his label. Hence, the birth of their first single, "Everybody’s Changing."
Their success boomed and as often compared to the band Coldplay. Presently they have two albums: Hopes and Fears which feature the singles, "Everybody’s Changing" and "Somewhere Only We Know" and Under The Iron Sea which feature the singles "Isn’t It Any Wonder" and "We Might As Well Be Strangers." They were also nominated for a Best New Artist in the 2005 Grammy Awards.
